Preciosa to collaborate with UNICEF at charity event

Preciosa will enter two crystal-coated dolls into UNICEF’s annual ‘Adopt a Doll and Save a Child’ charity auction in Prague on Tuesday 28th November.

The pair of dolls, affectionately known as our ‘twins’, are called Nisa and Stella, and were designed by Preciosa Design Lab on behalf of the Preciosa Foundation. Their appearance marks Preciosa’s first collaboration with UNICEF, as well as the first pair of ‘twin’ dolls entered into the event.

All money raised will go toward vaccinating children in third world countries; every year up to 3 million children die from diseases that are entirely preventable. The auction, which is entering its 15th year, has become known as a signature UNICEF event in the Czech Republic.

“We wanted to share a story of compassion and friendship. That‘s why we decided to create our lovely twins” explains Karel Páral, Commercial Development Director of Preciosa Components.

Also in attendance will be a number of prominent Czech designers and celebrities, including fashion designer and patron of the project Liběna Rochová (who also decorated her doll with Preciosa crystals), photographer Robert Vano, writer Michal Viewegh and hockey player Patrik Eliáš.

The auction kicks off at 18.30, and will take place at the Czech Museum of Music. Anyone is welcome to attend; entrance is free of charge, just register first at to ensure you get a place. We hope to see you there!
