Jannie Baltzer: "I enjoy emailing with each bride, personally"

Interview with Jannie Baltzer, designer of couture headpieces and veils

Her name is Jannie Baltzer. She is from Copenhagen and designs couture headpieces and veils for brides looking for something more unique or to make a fashion statement. Her work is regularly featured in fashion magazines such as VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, which is a major personal accomplishment.

What was your inspiration for your 2017 Collection?
The Danish illustrator, Aslaug Sand, (www.aslaugsand.com) was a huge inspiration for my 2017 collection. Her drawings of delicate flowers, leaves and vines are truly magical, and I feel very inspired by her work. For this collection, I used many different sizes and shapes of Preciosa crystals to add texture and give my pieces an organic, ethereal feel. My designs tend to have a bohemian and relaxed look so that my brides feel that their look is striking yet effortless.

What makes your designs special?
Our headpieces take hours to create. Each piece is handled with care and precision, demonstrating the highest level of craftsmanship and couture skills. Each Preciosa crystal is sewn by hand, and we hand-bead everything at our studio in Copenhagen. Today, with the mass market of mass-produced accessories, we are proud to that the entire creation process takes places in our studio.

What is the most common thing brides ask you when they decide to buy a Jannie Baltzer creation?
Because I ship worldwide, I’ve gotten many different questions from brides before they order, which I completely understand. I enjoy emailing, personally, with each bride to make sure that my team and I design the perfect headpiece or veil just for her.

Where are you located/where do you ship to?
My label is based in Copenhagen but ships worldwide. We currently ship to and have stockists in more than 60 countries. Anyone can check out my designs on my site, www.janniebaltzer.com

Thank you.
